Horses sometimes become balky due to physical ailments such as sharp teeth, sore feet, a sore back, badly fitting tack or emotional ailments such as fear or stubbornness.
InterpretationMany farmers had difficulty with balkiness in their horses and mules, animals vital to success in the fields. This ad for a patent claims a solution to the problem.
