TitleStrong in the strength of the Lord...
Coverage / Year1942
DescriptionPoster, color, 21.9 x 27.9 in., published by the United States Government Printing Office
InterpretationStrength, especially masculine, was a common visual theme in World War II posters. Images of men and machines exemplified America's ability to channel its strength into the war effort. This poster breaks slightly with tradition by including a woman war worker's arm (note the decoration on the cuff) as an equal to the men.
