Can of Paint Brushes
Can of Paint Brushes
Resource Typeimage
TitleCan of Paint Brushes
Coverage / Year1914 to 1920s
DescriptionThis is a metal can with paint brushes. The paint brushes are covered with paint and varnish, causing the brushes to be stuck to the can.
InterpretationMany times blacksmiths had a wagon shop attached to their shop. In the wagon shop, they would repair buggies and wagons including the wheels, the body, and the hardware. These paint brushes reinforce that the blacksmiths also did detailing. After the broken wagon or buggy body was replaced they would paint or varnish the new wood to match the rest.
